My New Puppy

So, Rob got me an electric blue Nintendo DS for my birthday with Nintendogs and a couple other games. Nintendogs is so awesome. It’s basically a virtual pet ownership simulation game. Your puppy always stays a puppy and it doesn’t die or age. You have to train it and teach it tricks and take it out for walks. And to earn money to buy supplies like food and water and shampoo, you have to enter the dog in Frisbee, Agility, and/or Obedience Competitions. When you go on walks you can encounter other dogs that your dog may or may not like, and you can find presents, like accessories such as different colored collars or sunglasses for your dog. When you’re walking the dog, and he poops, you have to pick up the poop. It is so stinkin’ cute!

This is my Pembroke Welsh Corgi and only dog, Scooter. Isn’t he adorable? He loves belly rubs and playing with the soccer ball. I’ve taught him to sit, lie down, roll over on his side, and roll over on his back and give me his belly. he even won first place in his first frisbee competition!

Here he is sleeping and getting his belly rubbed

So, Rob and I went to Cincinnati this weekend for the 20th Century Cincinnati show.  It was nice not have to look past butter churns and spinning wheels and other Cracker Barrel-type stuff to see stuff we were interested in.  They had about 50 vendors, and we didn’t buy anything, but had the price been more reasonable, I would have bought this Air India advertising poster from the 60’s as a birthday present to myself.  It was $2500 though, and I couldn’t come anywhere near justifying that.  I like art and all , and I really appreciate it, but i would have preferred to see it cheaper and unframed.

Rob almost bought an Astro Fighter table (it was in really good condition), but the attract screen (the screen that runs when no one is playing it to”attract” players to the machine) didn’t work.  Astro Fighter is basically an old-skool Space Invaders rip-off.

Good times had at the show, and our bank accounts were happy we didn’t buy anything. Although, I hadn’t planned on buying anything taht could be considered “collectible”. It had to have a function- like a lamp, dish, or piece of furniture- if I was going to buy it.
