So, Rob finished up his jury duty today and I went and picked him up, as we only have one car right now. Then we went to Mary’s to eat leftover cookout food and show off some wedding proofs.
Anyway, we get home and I switched some laundry and I came in the kitchen and Rob said, “Do you hear that squeaking?” I walked in the dining room and I didn’t hear anything. Then I heard the squeaking and at first I thought a bird was outside the sliding door dying or injured after flying into our windows or something like that (we had been talking about birds flying into windows earlier). Then I saw Beans run from over by the sliding glass doors where the squeaking was and as he ran by I noticed he had something in his mouth.
Sure enough, it was a mouse! It wasn’t dead. He took it into his kitty condo and it was kind of walking around and he was playing with it. I got Rob a plastic bag and a towel and he captured the mouse and took it outside to release it.
But we had just been talking about mice with Mary and we hadn’t had one in the house for awhile, and sure enough we came home to a treat. We live in the woods so mice are kind of inevitable round these parts.
The cats are all wired now hoping to find another one. We gave them treats for being such good little hunters.
