New Fridge

So, last weekend we got a new fridge. The old fridge was probably 20 years old. It looked nice in the kitchen, but the icemaker didn’t work and the crisper drawers wouldn’t open all the way and stuff in teh freezer eventually ended up freezer burned. Now we have water in the door (even though we buy water and have a water cooler) and an icemaker in the freezer. Rob was really excited to get ice. Well, he’ll have to wait until our plumber comes and installs the bathroom stuff. After two trips to Lowe’s I got the water line conected, but I don’t know where to turn it on in the crawlspace. Plus, I was a little scared it might leak since I had to cut copper and whatnot, and the Leeps do not have the best luck with water in the house.

In addition to cleaning out the fridge (so there’d be less to transfer), we got a lot of stuff organized in the house. Rob purged almost half of his 45’s, and we took a carload to Goodwill on Saturday afternoon. We were crazy productive!

New Fridge

The new fridge is not counter depth like the old one, but it’s pretty cool.

We can see everything! Lots of Perrier, pudding, and yogurt in our fridge. As well as fruit and carrots in the drawers.

The freezer fits a bunch too, but our icemaker is filled with fake ice right now until we get the water turned on.

Bathroom bathroom

So, today I ordered a new toilet and a washlet. Believe it or not, when we were in Japan we fell in love with the bidet seats that were in almost every bathroom (well, not the really spartan public ones, but in probably about 85% of the public bathrooms we used). We’re going with a Toto toilet and washlet. I couldn’t decide what toilet to get, but I found this plumber that has a message board where people talk about their new toilets, and based on recommendations there I am going with the Toto Drake. If you need a new toilet, you should check out the site. Click here to visit Terry Love’s site. Click on the Plumbing Bulletin Board to see user reviews of toilets and bathroom stuff.

And if you want to see everything the Washlet does, visit cleanishappy.com

We also ordered a new vanity and sink for the hallway bathroom, so in a month or so, we’ll have a whole new bathroom and all of our visitors can experience the Washlet.

The kids…

So, Mikey and Diana came down Monday with the kids and I got to have a late lunch/early dinner with them and Diana’s friend Danielle (who also lives here) at a Mexican restaurant. Dylan was completely conked out, and Brady was really good. Here are just a few pics…as usual, click them to make them bigger!

Dylan says, “Zzzzzzzzzz.” Although when he’s awake he repeats everything you say.

Life in the Circle

So, Rob and I were bringing the trash cans back down to the house from the top of our circle where they pick it up. For some reason I felt compelled to look in the trees and see if I could spot the owl’s nest. Well, much to my surprise, the owl himself was staring back at me.

He’s a barred owl. I know he’s been around here for awhile. I do wish he would catch some more mice though so they stop coming in my house. Although, it’d be nice if the kitties would earn their keep and catch the mouse they keep looking for in the kitchen.Later today… So we must have a new mailman, because the last mail person I remember was a woman. A very ditzy woman who would misdeliver mail ALL the time. Anyway, the mailman rang the doorbell today and he said, “I have your mail here. I wanted to ask you about a couple names that I haven’t seen before. They’re here on these magazines.”I looked down and saw two issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly. It’s a magazine that Rob gets for free somehow and he has a fake name as the delivery name in case they sell the list. I explained to the mailman that Rob sometimes fake names these free magazine subscriptions, but not to worry about it if they’re tech magazines or video games or music stuff. Then I pointed to the Phil McKrackin and said it to him. He started cracking up! I think we both got a good laugh out of that one.

Lastly, here are some pictures of the kitties with the new camera. I still need to get used to it, but it is an awesome camera! As usual, click the little pics to see them bigger!
