More Elizabeth

We went to see Elizabeth again last Friday. She’s already getting bigger. I swear she has gained weight- and for once it’s a good thing!Here’s my photo album of all the Elizabeth photos so far…DSC_3076 DSC_3074 DSC_3073 DSC_3056 DSC_3055 DSC_3090 DSC_3053 DSC_3086 DSC_3082 DSC_3052 DSC_3045 DSC_3039 DSC_3081 DSC_3037 DSC_3079 DSC_3032 DSC_3052 DSC_3031 DSC_3031 DSC_3029 DSC_3051 DSC_3028 DSC_3050 DSC_3049 DSC_3024 DSC_3024 DSC_3019 DSC_3016 DSC_3015                                      We like to call this one 'Cold and Screaming in a Sundress in January'                *k*

Some changes around here…

So, I have been cleaning up the blog a little. I got a new layout. Those of you that read it in RSS readers, you should come by and check it out. I am tweaking the photos a bit. Always know you can see my most recent photos that may not have blog entries over at my photostream on Flickr. So, bear with me around here as I do some cleanup. Everything should still work normal, but if it doesn’t make sure you email me via the contact page and I will try and fix whatever is wrong.

Bookcases

We finally got our bookcases installed a little over a week ago. We spent last week filling them with records and books. We were able to get so much stuff out of boxes, and Rob purged some of his vinyl as well. Things are really shaping up around here, I must say. I can see the floor of my office now (it’s been a long time).bookcases 007 bookcases 006 bookcases 005 bookcases 004 bookcases 003 bookcases 003 bookcases 002 bookcases 001

Test Post

this post is a test

I love Judge Judy

So, I don’ t get to watch her enough, but I love catching her when I can.  Click here and watch the video of her schooling a guy on putting his hands on a woman. What a tool.  You’d think people would think before trying to get one by her.

I’m Going to Liveblog the Grammys

So, Rob can’t believe we’re watching this, but I am making him while I rip CDs to my computer and he loads the bookcase with records.

8:10 PM- My thoughts so far are: Ugh. Alicia Keys in a Frank Sinatra duet. Let the dead man be! Love Alicia Keys’ dress though. My boobs couldn’t do that. Carrie Underwood looked hot. Rob added a lyric about the police coming after her after she takes the Louisville Slugger to the guy’s car because she’s a crazy bitch.

8:18 PM- Seriously, is this going to be a night of duets/mash-ups/medleys? Because WTF does Rihanna have to do with Morris Day and the Time? Props? He had a mirror and she had an umbrella? This does not bode well. I at least hope since they’re letting her do two songs, they’ll let The Time do “The Bird”.

8:25 PM- A Beatles tribute. OK, I dig the Cirque de Soleil LOVE thing. Rob said they haven’t shown any Yoko/Ringo cutaway shots is “because it’s not that exciting watching people counting a big stack of money”. I haven’t seen Across the Universe yet. So far, meh. I mean, it’s not that much of a stretch to make “Let it Be” a gospel song.

8:34 PM- Really? Miley Cyrus and Cyndi Lauper? Cyndi Lauper talks like she’s in Little Shop of Horrors. Yay, Amy Winehouse- Best New Artist!

8:47 PM- Kanye brings it! He said he’d do anything for a Klondike bar. LOL. Rob is the best Grammy predictor because he totally called that this “duet” performance would include Daft Punk. Dude, it looks like Tron. I love it. Fave performance so far. This will be hard to top IMO. Awwwww…I’m gonna cry for Kanye doing the mama song. Rob said, “why would he get two songs?” and I told him it was cause his mom died.

I’m gonna put the rest of my ongoing Grammy thoughts after the break, so click on to read more. And yes, Carisse, I agree that Alicia Keys never has good hair. It’s ALWAYS weird.

Floods

So, yeah, if you saw the videos below, you know my basement was flooding last night.  The worst part is you’re just standing there and there’s nothing you can do.  You can’t stop the water.  We had a waterproofing system put in, but that really addresses water coming in through the walls and falling down the channels they put in or water coming up from the ground.  It doesn’t address the water coming in from your crawlspace in some weird-ass jerry-rigged drain solution which believe it or not looks INTENTIONAL.  So, we played engineer and used some old shelves to help the water flow into the waterproofing system and get pumped out.Seriously. My next house will be new.

Watch as my basement floods!

Watch as my basement floods some more!

The Snowpocalypse Never Came

It was a little bit of snow, some sleet, and some icy rain, but not an ice storm or anything.  They had even cancelled some schools last night and closed some dental offices (way to get free advertising, dentists!).
