So. The Typhoon Missed Us
Last I left you with a proper blog post (and I know it was a long time ago), we were hunkering down for the typhoon. Well, it was expected to hit on Sunday afternoon (July 15th), but it never came. It just rained a lot in the morning and then cleared up a little bit.

Since we could get to the train station without really setting foot outside, we headed there so we could go to the Tokyo Central Station to get our tickets on the shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto for the next day.
Then when we got back it actually cleared up a bit. It was really weird because there was so much humidity in the air, all the glass was really foggy.
So, since we really thought a typhoon was coming, we made appointments to get massages and facials in the spa. I read somewhere that if you’re in Japan, you should really make it a point to visit a spa. Well, wherever I read that- they were right. It was totally awesome! I don’t know that I have ever had a massage that awesome. I don’t know if it was Shiatsu or what, but it was the bomb!
After our spa treatments we went down to the Shidome complex and ate Chinese food at a restaurant called China Doll. It was pretty cheap and I would order a few things, kind of like Dim Sum, and Rob kept telling me, “You’re ordering too much food,” probably because he was used to American portions. But then the food would come and he was wrong. It was nice to be able to order a few things to try.
